All produced on plant based material, The Pigment Documents stand in a world between the seen and the imagined. They play with the familiar and the fantastical. The purpose is to create a visual plain in which some sort of associative meaning can be arrived at by the viewer.
The cryptic titles reference the personal conversations that go on internally while producing work of this sort. Adding little to the actual finished pieces the titles merely document the minds state while producing these paintings.
The mediums used range from ultra matte theatre paint, Tremclad, spray paint, gouache paint, to fluorescent colours. These materials add new visual properties to the works that are compelling to explore.
