These paintings are not about depicting the observable landscape but rather creating a transcription of it, another way to understand it. This involves a re-interpretation of it. Searching for underlying structures within it, and using them to developing a ‘language’ with its own specific syntax.
In other words, I am not simply trying to reproducing what I see in front of me in an arbitrary way but with intention, to coherently convey new experiences, new ideas.
